Happy 2023, I planned to have new content up sooner, but with technical difficulties that didn’t happen, anyway. we’re in the fourth week of January and I can’t help, but laugh at a time when I thought this year seemed so far away. Nevertheless I want this year to truly be one of change so that I can say at the end of what a difference a year makes and mean it, achieving my goals or taking steps to do so. I knew a few months ago, I wanted this year to be one of change, but I didn’t wait, I started making changes and enjoying the moments and the ways in which I was challenging myself. I wanted to start this year off by sharing my goals for the year with you, something I had done on and off in the past by doing it monthly. That said, for some reason I feel like this year is going to be different in the best way so, I’m going to start it off that way. Sharing some of my goals and how I’m living 2023 with more intention.

In 2023 I Want to
- Create my first 101 in 1001 by the end of the month and cross 10 to 15 things off: I’ve seen these 101 in 1001 days list on a few blogs that I’ve read, but I didn’t really think about creating one until recently. However I know there are a few things I’d like to do and know what I want my life to look like or hope it looks like anyway so I figured it would be good and fun to give this a try and a great way to not only start off 2023, but make sure I carry the goals with intention mindset forward.
- Read 75 Books: Everytime I look at the goal I set for myself when it comes to reading, I can’t help, but laugh because I despised reading as a kid. I just didn’t find books interesting. It wasn’t until I read Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead that I thought to reconsider my stance on reading for fun. Now in my spare time you can find me reading, but there are some books I still want to read that I haven’t gotten around to yet such as Shakespeare’s other works, Charles Dickens, just to name a a few. I’m hoping with the exception of this month to read at least one of these books month as part of 75 quota.
- Try one new activity or go to a new location near me each month (restaurant, museum) . I love trying new things, but it can be difficult when you’re trying to consider access, but possible with some planning. For example, going to a sports event live was something I wanted to do and in the spirit of not waiting until the new year for things to change, I made there last month and know that the location is accessible and look forward to going again. I loved that I got to end the year doing something new, it helped me to feel like I was truly taking steps towards my goal and the kind of life I wanted to live. I realized that small moments can truly lead to you accomplishing goals and living with intention for 2023

- Get Back To Working Out Consistently By The End Of February: I want to work out for my strength and endurance because I am using my arms so much in addition to maintaining my mobility. I’m going to aim to workout 2x a week for now as well as drinking more water so that I feel healthier. This is a big one for me and while I want to accomplish all the things on this list, if I could only cross a few things off, but have this as a new habit, I’d be happy about 2023 and the effort in going after my goals with intention
- Set up Affiliate Marketing Income Stream For My Website: I’ve been putting this off for a while for one reason or another, but if I truly want 2023 to be different for me and this brand, income streams need to happen. I’m hoping that I can add this as a source of income over the summer at the latest.
- Hit 6500 on Instagram: Before I first had the idea for this brand in 2016, I wasn’t really on Instagram, even to follow people. Shocker right? At least that’s the reaction many people in my circle had when the realized that. Since joining the platform, I’ve come to enjoy creating content though there day that are harder than others. During the various algorithm changes, I’ll admit that I have taken a few breaks, but when I see someone who really connects with my content and my message it reminds me of why I decided to do this in the first place so I hope to grow my account to this number minimum by December 31st 2023 so that I can have a bigger impact and take another step to make the Sitting Beauty what I truly want it to be and represent to women with disabilities.

- Hit 150 on Facebook: Although Instagram and now Tiktok seem to be the go-to platforms when it comes to social media due to the video component of each platform, there is something to be said for one of the original platforms, Facebook. I want to dedicate time to growing this audience as well.
- Develop better weekly Newsletter & Overall Email Strategy: Email is not dead and I feel like it is so underrated, that being said, I feel like I could create something better for my email subscribers so I want to work on that and improve my strategy, at least for the place that the Sitting Beauty is in right now.
- Take 2 fashion courses & 1 blogging course: One thing I wish I’d done sooner is take courses or on fashion and blogging because as someone once reminded me in order to be good at most things you have to be willing to keep learning and there is always going to be a moment of you don’t know what you don’t know so I want to take these courses and keep on learning.
- Figure Out How To Film Reels Indoors By Myself: I have help filming the majority of my reels and while that’s been great content wise, there isn’t always someone there to help me and sometimes that can mean a wasted day that I could’ve been filming something or not staying in because I wasn’t able to film what I need to on a certain day. Additionally I think figuring this out will challenge me creatively and I can’t wait for that.

- Go See A Show On Broadway from My List: I’ve had a few memorable experiences in NYC, but I haven’t been able to cross off any broadway shows that I’ve wanted to see in recent years so I’m looking into making it happen this year.
- Plan a hangout with Friends once a month: It wasn’t until I graduated college and my friends and I started interning and /or working that I realized how easy it is too lose touch with people. During the pandemic, I made more of an effort to stay in touch with friends and do fun activities, but you have to actively plan that so this year, I’m hoping to do meetups, and fun activities with friends at least once a month, we’ll see how this goes.
I am so excited for this year and I can’t wait to see what’s in store. I hope for a year full of laughs and fun stories, new experiences, opportunities and so much more. I am ready to get started on intentionally working towards these goals which I will do when I finish writing this piece. What are your goals for 2023 and how are you going to be more intentional about going after them?
