What is your favorite aspect of the fall season? I have a few, but I I love watching the leaves change and doing what I can to get into the spirit of the season. When it comes to autumn, there’s just something special about the season that makes fashion fun, specifically when you get to incorporate it into your style. I’ve been having so much fun putting my outfits together for fall so today I’m sharing how to add some vibes to your closet.

How To Add Fall Vibes To Your Closet
Seasonal Colors As Main Pieces: The easiest way to add fall vibes to your closet and get into the spirit of the season is to wear the classic fall colors. Every fall I have at least 2 pieces that are some degree of red, orange, or brown. I’m all for trying something new for the season, especially since fall fashion is always amazing, but there is just something about the colors that give me all the fall feels. If you don’t want to wear the classic seasonal colors you can find out what the colors are for that year. According to Vogue, this year’s fall colors are: pacific ocean blue, burnt orange, zesty lime, Barbie core Pink, Dark Gray, Mellow Yellow, off white, and beige.
Trends As Main Pieces : Next up after the classic seasonal colors are trends. Trends are a tricky thing some of them are fun to style and add to your wardrobe, others may be a no, either way it’s up to you because you don’t need to add seasonal trends to the closet to be stylish. However if you want to add them to your outfits you can do so by adding them as main pieces. You can wear a top, bottom, or layering piece that features the trend. This can be fun if you really like the trend and can see yourself wearing it often. Plaid is back this fall and because I love neutral colors, I bought a neutral button down crop top. It’s simple, yet cute to pair with other pieces as a layering piece.

Earrings, Bracelets & All Things Jewelry: I love earrings, I feel like they enhance an outfit, I’ve always worn earrings, but I’m still trying to get myself in the habit of wearing additional jewelry with my outfits. Anyway before I digress. Jewelry is a great way to add a little bit of fall to your outfits, you can go with the traditional colors or symbols or fall like leaves or pumpkins. If you want to try something else, jewelry is a great way to see how you feel about a trend, without purchasing a piece and leaving it in your closet or going through the hassle of a return if you don’t like it.
Face Masks: We’ve been dealing with Covid for two and a half years now and I’m vaccinated, but being disabled and not knowing how my body would react if I got it, makes me cautious. For this reason, I still wear masks. I found several pack options that have a variety of colors and while I’ll definitely be wearing the red and orange options, I’m definitely looking at options with fall symbols just like the jewelry. If you’re thinking of adding some fall vibes, but want to start small, go with face masks.

Shoes: Shoes and more shoes. Fall colors when it comes to shoes are a great option to add some fall aesthetic. Since I have trouble getting my feet to stay in some shoes because of how my disability affects my feet, I love wearing boots. Boots have so many different styles, allow me to keep my feet a little warmer and depending on the ones I choose, will give me an inch or two in heel height which can make transfers so much easier. Boots are always popular this season, that being said, it seems as if the western boot is trending right now, a great option to try out a trend and get in the fall mood, that is if it fits your sense of style after all.
Hats & Scarves: Fashion scarves are a good way to keep warmer in the cooler months and add some details to your outfits without really putting on another layer and I’m all for them. Nonetheless, nothing beats hats or scarves when you are outside. I used to only focus on my outfit and not really pay attention to the outwear just wearing things for function, which is fine if you truly want to do that, I didn’t. I did because I struggled to find things that functioned the way I needed to as a wheelchair user. When it comes to coats that may be difficult, but shopping for hats and scarves is fun. When there is a new trend I’m not sure about, but tempted to try, I start with the outwear first, this way the piece gets used, but you don’t have to wear it all day.

Handbags: The part of fashion I love maybe more than shoes. Similar to footwear when it comes to fall fashion, handbags have their own styles and patterns that complement or reflect what’s trending for the season. Whether it’s a plaid handbag or a neutral color monogram option. This fall the belt bag is trending and while I can’t deny it’s helpful as a wheelchair user, I’m note a huge fan of the style.
Fashion or rather style, can seem daunting and it’s easy to feel stuck and like you have nothing to wear, but I hope this post inspired some outfits for you or at very least helped you find a starting place. When I started learning more about fashion, I realized I was overthinking some of it and forgot to have fun with the process so in addition something that was included in the post, I hope you remember: If nothing else have fun with the process.
