Before I became a digital creator and disability activist and advocate, I wasn’t that active on social media. As a woman with a disability, I wish I would have gotten on certain platforms especially Instagram sooner. Does social media have pitfalls? Absolutely. However, it has also enabled me to connect with so many women with disabilities all trying to do the same thing that I hope to: share our experiences living with a disability, dispelling misconceptions and stereotypes to show the world what we are really capable of, which is more than they think. In honor of Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month, I wanted to share a little about the Instagram accounts of some great content creators who live with Cerebral Palsy.

Instagram Accounts By People With Cerebral Palsy You Need To Follow
Chelsea Bear: RealChelseaBear: Chelsea Bear is a content creator and Disability advocate. When I first started my journey with The Sitting Beauty Diaries and started looking for other women with disabilities to follow, in particular women with disabilities, she was on my list. Chelsea’s content is educational yet entertaining, delivered in such a way that makes people want to watch more of her videos. The content she shares ranges from how to’s, to travel, fitness, and education of what her experience of living with cerebral palsy is like. If you are someone who loves occasional travel content, as well as the other topics I mentioned, check out Chelsea’s content.
CP & Me: This is a relatively new follow for me, CP & Me talks about living with Cerebral Palsy, fitness and most recently motherhood and disability. She discusses the successes and struggles with each topic, especially how inaccessible things can be as a disabled mother.

Rebeca Gonzalez Becavibes: I discovered this account a few days ago when I had the idea for this article. I was so glad I stumbled onto this account and I immediately it the follow button. Rebecca shares beauty tips and tutorials, fashion inspo and content about loving the body you’re in.
Paula Carozzo Pauozzo: Paula is another long time follow Instagram account for me for me. She started her platform with the idea of making her cane a very important part of it. In addition to adaptive fashion Pauozzo’s content covers equality, accessibility in aspects including travel, her lifestyle as a person with disability, and rights for those of use with disabilities to name a few and doesn’t shy away from difficult topics.. The content she shares is all about educating others about Cerebral Palsy, while teaching about loving yourself. She has easily relatable content and delivers it in a way that makes you want to keep scrolling whether it’s for more tips be it outfit or cane, or discussing some of the more topics that the disability community faces.
Jennifer JMotivates : I first discovered this account a few years ago. Jmotivates focuses on motivating others to go after what they want out of life and keep dreaming. I love some of the messages she posts, however, my favorite part of this brand is the Spotlight Wednesday when she features amazing women on Instagram, sharing their lives with disabilities and dispelling misconceptions about living with a disability in their own way. I love looking at this account on the days that I need a reminder on the days nothing seems to go the way I want it to.

Norah Wellness By Norah: Norah is a pilates instructor with Cerebral Palsy. When I first started following her Instagram account, my first thought was I’m not a pilates or yoga person, but maybe I need to be? I haven’t checked out the workouts, just the quick snippets on Instagram and I’m intrigued about possibly having more workout options. The exercises seem easy enough for me to do so I am going to give them a try in the next few weeks. If you are looking for some simple exercise ideas to up your workout definitely check out Norah’s content on Instagram and tiktok.
I haven’t had the chance to do a who to follow piece of content since I first changed the name of my platform to the Sitting Beauty Diaries so it seemed fitting to do another post that focused on women with cerebral palsy doing their part to dispel misconceptions about what life is like with Cerebral Palsy. I hope you enjoy the content these amazing content creators share about living with cerebral palsy as much as I do, now go follow their Instagram accounts.
