Happy New Year!! Yes, I know I’m a bit late with this new year’s post, but there’s more than half of the month left. Time to set resolutions, or get back on track, (it happens). For me this year didn’t start out like I thought it would because there were a few roadblocks, but that didn’t stop me from setting goals for the new year. Over the last two years I’ve made a lot of changes, but a few weeks ago someone challenged me to do something a little different this time around, set intentions. What’s the difference? Setting intentions for me is about having a theme for the year in addition to New Year’s resolutions. Instead of this big goal that can seem daunting, set goals after considering what it is you want for the next year of your life. To kickoff off 2022 on the blog on sharing my 2022 Intentions.
2022 Intentions
One of the biggest struggles I’ve had in the past is finding the balance, or as a mindset coach mentioned to me, harmony, between building this blog into the great brand and resource I know it can be without neglecting other aspects of my life such as making time for friends and family. It always seemed to be one or the other typing away on my laptop or reading new articles always feeling like there’s more to do, then occasionally catching up with friends when our schedules worked out. After thinking about these past few weeks I realized I hated that pattern so this year I’m setting the theme for focused but fun, being more intentional with the time I do have so that when I do take time away for friends, family, or a little self-care which may include a solo day of doing things I love, I can do so without worry about my seemingly never ending to-do list.
The theme of the year is set, but what does that mean for the goals that I have and being intentional with my time? Well let’s break down some of my 2022 Intentions.

Stay Ahead Of My Content Calendar; Grow Blog & Business
1 relaunched the blog in 2020, but staying consistently weeks ahead of my content calendar has been a struggle at times. At the end of 2021, I sat down and worked on my intentions for my blog this year and the biggest thing for me after providing the highest quality of helpful content that I could was consistently providing that content. There are times that things are going to happen that are out of my control, that’s life, still, I believe that being intentional about the kind of content I want to create is the first step to growing the sitting beauty diaries to blog and brand I know it can be. I’ve said time and time again, I see great things for this blog and this year is going to bring some amazing changes for it,
Self-Care Matters In Whatever Form That May Be
If the pandemic taught me anything, it’s that self-care matters, whatever that means to you. In my case, these past few years it means that I take the time to work on my mindset everyday because that works for me and I’ve noticed a difference when I do. It means taking a break from sitting in front of my computer during the day and moving around a bit. Self-care reminds me that while I’m going after the dreams I have, be it professional or personal, I have to make time to enjoy life, enjoy the journey along the way. I’ve already been doing the things I mentioned for a while before the new year, but this year. Self-care means doing all the things I mentioned and taking care of my body through healthier eating and workouts. I’m not exactly sure what each of those things will look like with a full plan, but I’m starting small with the basics and building from there. I’m doing this with intention so that I feel better all around, but as someone with a disability, I hope that my body gets stronger, my transfers are easier and I feel more capable of things.

Make Some Time For Fun & New Experiences
Remember how I said my theme for this year was focused, but fun. I hope to make this a great year by not only growing my blogging business, but on other levels as well making time for fun solo or with friends, whether it’s catching a movie, grabbing dinner or going to an event: activities I already know I like as well as a few new ones. Experiencing new things should be fun for the most part, if it isn’t, at the very least I can say I did it. I also want to learn something new, we’ve been dealing with the pandemic for quite some time now and unfortunately places are closing and going remote again. I don’t know if going out and experiencing new things are going to happen as often as I would like it to this year, so I’m going to focus on a few things I wanted to learn how to do that I’ve honestly been putting off because it’s going to be time consuming, it’s a new year so why not? It will be work, but a different kind of challenge that gets me out of my head and away from my computer a little so I’m excited.
I may be hyped up on the energy or the new year, but to me that’s okay. I want 2022 to be a year of metamorphosis and changes big changes can’t be made unless you’re excited and ready to make them, sure there will be lows as well, but I’m focused on the overall goals I have for my life. I’ve been making small changes that have made me better and stronger since the start of COVID-19, but this year will be different because I’m starting off intending it to be knowing what I want and taking small steps to make it happen. I’ve set my intentions for 2022, now it’s time to get work. Here’s to 2022, a year of amazing fun and changes.
Did you write out your goals or intentions for 2022? What is one thing you want to accomplish or change this year? Let me know in the comments
