Are you ready for Halloween? Can you believe it’s almost that time again? It feels like Fall just started and we’re only a little over 3 weeks from Halloween, time truly does fly by A few weeks ago, I started thinking about the post I wanted to write for this month, Halloween- themed or just my usual informational and entertaining, hopefully, content? I was about to go with the latter, but the more I thought about it the more I realized you may be like me where may still be working on your makeup skills/ have no desire to learn scary makeup, and/ or have no plans to get dressed for Halloween. If you’re looking for ways to get Halloween spirit without going all out, then you’re in the right place.
5 Things That Get Me Into The Spirit Of Halloween
Accessories: Okay I’m going to be honest until early this year I really didn’t pay attention to my accessories for my outfits past earrings, I know, I know, there’s nothing wrong with that, but I attended a style consultation earlier this year and after going over some key things she asked me about my accessories. I just didn’t put much effort into them, but if you’re of the same mindset let me tell you something, in addition to earrings there are several other pieces that complement and improve your outfit, use these pieces to add a little fun or spooky vibes to your outfit. You can add a scarf, rings, bracelets, or necklaces or hair accessories that fit with your style and have the vibe you want to portray for the day.
Nails or Nail Art: If you look at my nails from the summer in my Instagram photos, you’ll see that if my nails are done, they’re white a color I loved for the summer. When it comes to specific seasons painting your nails specific colors to match is always fun especially if you’re not in a place where you can go crazy with the colors. Since there is a chance to still be working from home these days I say go crazy with the colors if you are at home. I personally don’t have the skills to create intricate designs, that’s where nail art stickers come in. I bought a set of 24 nail art stickers from Claire’s it’s 4 different designs with 6 nails in each, at the time of writing this I have yet to try them, but I’m so excited to and if it works well, I know I’ll have more options when it comes to doing my nails.
Halloween Movies: October isn’t complete without a Halloween movie or a dozen in my opinion. From Hulu’s Huluween to Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween & a few other channels doing something similar it’s par for the course to watch at least one Halloween-themed movie or episode of a show whether it’s comedic or thriller or scary. Themed Clothes: Am I the only one who loves themed clothes for the season? I’m not a true fan of the ugly Christmas sweaters for the holiday season, but I do like a shirt, socks, or even slippers that definitely show off my spirit for the upcoming holiday. I recently ordered a cute hoodie that was definitely in the spirit of Halloween and I’m excited to plan some content around it oh, so be sure to follow me on Instagram to make sure you see it. Do costumes count as themed clothing or should they be in a category all their own? one of my favorite things to do during this time is looking at the amazing costumes that people come up with weather purchase and putting on their own spin with accessories in makeup or a DIY. I guess I love anything where you can really get creative.
Halloween Desserts & Decor: Last but not least, desserts and decor. If you don’t know by now I’m a dessert girl of course I have to balance it out with healthy food, but occasionally, I’ll buy desserts that remind me of this season either in packaging or garnishes, at least until I can learn to make a few own my own (hopefully). From desserts to decor, go I don’t get the chance to decorate for Halloween as much as I’d like I love to go on social media and see some of the amazing DIY projects that people come up with to decorate their homes for Halloween parties weather going all out or creating something simply a sleek and elegant for a dinner with friends.
I’m sure I could think of a few other things that get me into the spirit of Halloween. But we’d probably be here for a while and I wanted this post to be fun, not extremely long. In my opinion, Halloween is about fun, costumes, candy, and a scary movie or two, like I said it wouldn’t be Halloween without it. I’m not sure what my plans are for Halloween this year, but I’ll definitely be doing a few of these things to get myself in the spirit for Halloween.
