My closet may be all set for fall, but I’m not. Nevertheless, it’s almost here which means more time inside. Since it’s been a while since I did a completely just for fun post, I wanted to do something a little different. Today on the blog I’m sharing what I’m watching and reading this fall to keep me entertained in my free time since hanging out outside won’t be an option for much longer. Shall we get to that list?
What I’m Watching This Fall:
One of the best ways I like to spend my time inside is doing an activity, whether it’s going to an event or the movies. I’m not always sure there’s going to be something worth going to see instead of waiting for streaming, well most of the time.
The Woman King: When I first saw the trailer for this movie, I knew I’d watch it. Imdb.com describes it as “ A historical epic inspired by true events that took place in The Kingdom of Dahomey, one of the most powerful states of Africa in the 18th and 19th centuries.” There are things that aren’t going to be accurate, but I’m hoping it’s a good film. Although I planned to go see it opening weekend, that doesn’t look like it’s happening so I’ll let you all know what I think when I watch it.

The Invitation: This is a horror/ thriller. In this film a woman learns she has several family members after testing her DNA. When she meets up with a cousin and is invited to a wedding, she attends only to get way more than she bargained for. I decided that in the full spirit of fall and the spooky season that I would add this to my watchlist, but I think I’m going to wait another week or so from the date of writing this.
What I’m Reading This Fall
When I’m not working on the Sitting Beauty Diaries or working on something else, when I have free time and I can’t go outside, I’m more than likely curled up on the couch reading. I have my book list of course, but I’m always looking at new releases to find more great options to read.
Carrie Soto Is Back By Taylor Jenkins Reid: This is my first book by this author, but I’ve heard good things about her books so I’m excited to read this. Carrie Soto is Back is a book about a tennis professional who is considered the best to ever play the game. When she’s in the stands at a grand slam and realizes her record is about to be broken. She comes out of retirement for 1 more grand slam, one more chance to set some new records and leave a bigger impact on the sport. There are parts of the synopsis I’m excited about, but, well, we’ll see.

The Witch In The Well By Camilla Bruce: When two friends reunite after decades apart, one becoming a social media influencer, the other an author, they stumble upon an old town legend and things in their worlds become more haunted and terrifying the deeper they get into the mystery surrounding the legend. This author is another first for me and I have to ask is it just me or are social media influencers becoming more popular as a job for characters in books and movies? Anyway I’m looking forward to this one, but it one be out for a few more weeks from the time that I am writing this post so I guess it’s the perfect for the scary mood of Halloween.
Well that wraps up my list for now, but I’m sure I’ll be adding to it soon. The weather may be changing soon, but I’m excited to add these books and movies to my list of things I’m looking forward to when the seasons change. What are you looking forward to reading or watching this fall?
